PIPER BY FOCENA — ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (TERMS OF USE)

Effective: June 24, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is the Terms of Use companion to the Piper by Focena Terms of Service ("Terms"). It is incorporated into the Terms by reference; a violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.


1. Permitted Use

You may use Piper by Focena (the "Service") only for lawful research and evidence-assessment purposes, in accordance with the Terms, your applicable plan or Order Form, and this AUP.


2. Prohibited Conduct

You will not, and will not permit any Authorized User or third party to:

2.1 Reverse engineering and derivation

2.2 Bulk extraction and scraping

2.3 Competing use

2.4 Circumventing license and access controls

2.5 Unlawful, infringing, or unauthorized content

2.6 Prohibited and regulated data

2.7 Security and integrity

2.8 Service abuse

2.9 Misrepresentation of Outputs

2.10 Misuse of attribution and provenance


3. Research Integrity and Output Handling

3.1 You are responsible for independently verifying Outputs against primary sources before relying on them for any purpose.

3.2 You will not use Outputs to make or inform clinical, prescribing, dosing, patient-care, or treatment decisions, consistent with §12 of the Terms.

3.3 Where you publish or share work informed by the Service, you are responsible for appropriate attribution and for compliance with the licenses governing any underlying source materials.


4. Enforcement

4.1 Focena may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates this AUP, consistent with §17 of the Terms. Focena may act immediately, without prior notice, where it reasonably believes a violation creates risk to the Service, to other users, to third parties, or to Focena's legal position.

4.2 Focena may remove, quarantine, or disable access to content or material that it reasonably believes violates this AUP, the Terms, or applicable law, or that is the subject of a valid infringement notice under §16 of the Terms.


5. Reporting

Report suspected violations, security issues, or infringement to focena@focena.ai. Infringement notices should follow the DMCA procedure in §16 of the Terms.
